Artifacts
The works presented on this page reflect the six outcomes of the MATC program.
In addition, they demonstrate my ability to communicate with different audiences
about a variety of topics. These artifacts represent the lessons and skills I have learned during my time in the program and I am confident that the last two years have prepared me to be an strong and effective communicator.

Message Map and Risk Analysis
For ENGL 5377, Dr. Grace tasked us with creating a message map and risk analysis that addressed a risk people face every day. For this course I decided to research and analyze the use of Humira and whether or not it really is the best prescription medication for people suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis and other autoimmune disorders. I was able to compare Humira to another similar medication and used primary and secondary research to determine which ultimately posed the least risk to consumers.
Artifact IV
Improving Medical Equipment Usability
This literature review was created for ENGL 5381 Global Technical Communication. In it, I discuss the issue of poor usability amongst different medical devices through statistics and research, and how usability standards for these devices vary in other parts of the world. This paper analyzes possible causes of poor usability in the field such as user error and poor instructional design. Lastly, I propose ways individuals in the field can overcome some of these obstacles and improve usability in the future.
